As the fiber artist, writer and curator Abigail Doan of Ecco*Eco and EcoSalon writes in this fine review: “crafting a green vision is a total process and something that flows between the head and the hands with some serious input from the heart.”

Doan is at the forefront of the revived slow fashion and textile movement, tackling the issue on several fronts.  Her exquisite art meditates on reestablishing the connection of the body and soul to the environment. She is also beloved for her constant encouragement and championing of smaller designers and artists through her writings, events and exhibitions that she organizes.

How sustainable is eco fashion?

                                      

“The road to hell is paved with good intentions” Right? While we may do our best too shop for eco fashion (organic cotton, fair trade, bamboo fabric, etc) Do our actions have un-forseen negative impacts on our environment that not only negate our best efforts to do right by the planet, but in fact counter act our actions so much that we might as well be shopping at Wal-Mart?!
